The two 18-hole golf courses at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Fire and Earth, were created by world-class Australian golfer Greg Norman and serve as the centrepieces of the area. Each course has a unique aesthetic that corresponds to its name; for example, Earth uses contrasts of green and brown, while Fire uses vibrant golden hues. Each offers a different playing experience, with a different topographical layout to present a particular challenge for players.
The Earth Course is the more well-known of the two because it hosts the DP World Tour Championship. The competition attracts more than 65,000 spectators and highlights Dubai’s sporting calendar. It is a weekend-long golf festival that includes live music, food, and other forms of entertainment to complement the game on the greens. Local tournaments are held on the Fire Course, which has a more desert-like appearance. It also has a links-style course that is perfect for seasoned players.
